This 2 ½ day workshop will focus on providing honest, thoughtful, and supportive feedback on each participant’s artwork. It will be conducted within a safe Covid-19 protocol environment. This Forum invites painters who work in painting.
Are you an artist who wants to develop your practice? Are you looking for support and helpful feedback on where to take your artistic journey next?
This workshop is perfect for artists who are serious about their art practice and want feedback on such things as their work, their intentions, their technique, and their materials. Each participant will have the opportunity to present and talk about their work and their art practice. There will be a group critique following each presentation. The crits will be structured to be insightful, creative, and supportive with the expectation that each participant will leave the workshop feeling inspired and connected with their art practice as a whole, and excited about the road ahead in particular. Participants are encouraged to bring original work for this presentation. They should also bring additional digital material in jpeg format on a USB stick.
Friday evening will be a meet-and-greet over wine. The workshop leader will give a short, illustrated talk about his work, his approach and his technique, followed by a Q and A. Saturday and Sunday will be for participants to present their work to the group, as outlined above. Equal time will be given to all participants, with the length of the presentations being determined by the number of participants. Time will also be spent on investigating other art-related topics such as the importance of developing a vision; how to effectively develop a body of work; and the use of language and writing in understanding one’s own work.
